At Jack Buck Farms, our commitment is twofold: to produce the highest quality food and to protect the environment that sustains us.
At Jack Buck Farms, environmental stewardship is a core philosophy that guides every decision we make. We are deeply conscientious about our land and our local ecosystem, striving daily to maintain a delicate and necessary balance between high-quality agricultural production and the preservation of wildlife diversity.
We take our environmental and social responsibilities seriously. It is our core policy to continually improve our farming practices and remain sensitive to our environment and ecosystem.
We endeavour to farm in a sustainable, responsible, and sympathetic way without jeopardizing productivity. This approach is rooted in applying a crop rotation principle throughout our operations. It is hugely important to us to provide every crop with the best possible field conditions to maximise yield and quality potential.
As members of LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming), we demonstrate our commitment through concrete actions. Over the past 20 years, we have planted 10,000m of hedging and 5 acres of trees – a significant and unusual achievement for an intensive arable marsh farm.
Furthermore, we maintain a 10-acre pond and reed bed area, which is a vital natural habitat typical of the marsh before drainage. We love our wildlife and are very proud of our woods, hedges, and ponds.
We work hard to achieve and maintain the highest standards of accreditation. Jack Buck Farms currently undertakes a number of audits throughout the year, every year.

Other Audits: We complete other audits as required, including the Waitrose Risk Assessment, an ethical audit (Smeta, Sedex, an international employment standards audit), and customer supplier packs. We’re always on hand to answer any and all questions and queries.

“Over my farming career there has been a revolution in food quality assessment and traceability. I am pleased to say that British Horticulture has led the way. Thanks to the protocols and standards we apply, British food and especially produce is demonstrably amongst the safest in the world. I hope it can continue to be so in the world trading environment we will soon find ourselves in.”
